The Mid Sussex Choir was founded in 1946 and was conducted for over 30 years by the late Miss Hilary Preston who then became the president and was actively involved with the choir for 56 years. The Choir has continued to provide a local opportunity for amateur choral singing. It is a good choir to sing with - very much a community - asking of its members only that they love singing and apply themselves to it. Under the genial baton of Andrew Sutton, who has been with the choir for over 20 years, it offers a happy and friendly atmosphere in which singing thrives. After our most successful Mostly Mozart concert last April we have recently held a Singalong workshop at Bolnore Village as part of their Arts Festival. We also led the singing at a wedding at the beginning of August. Our new season begins on Wednesday 10th September and we will be holding our AGM the following week. Plans for the season include participating in the Perrymount Road Methodist Church's Splash Festival on 15th November and our own Christmas Concert at St Wilfrid's Church on 13th December. We are always looking for new singers and anyone wishing to join us would be most welcome. Just come along and meet us on a Wednesday evening at Perrymount Road Methodist Church at 7.45pm.
